The International Association of Facilitators has published a number of book since the IAF Handbook of Group Facilitation, edited by Sandy Schumann was published in 2003.
The vision for this book follows the same basic format. A global team of IAF Certified Professional Facilitators (CPFs), members and others have come together to contribute chapters and visuals illustrating specific aspects of ‘the power of facilitation’. The chapters will combine with an introduction to provide a seminal resource for facilitators, leaders, idea-generators and aspiring facilitators. The book will not be a tool-based book about process facilitation, but will rather expound on the ‘power of facilitation’ in all its aspects of society.
This could be the first in a series of books that advance the field of facilitation. A volume II might for example be about success stories from the field-based IAF Facilitation Impact Award winners. Our idea is this first volume is a compendium that could then be the catalyst for future books focusing on ‘the power of facilitation’.
